Having founded his career in the carpentry trade and continued his development with a Bachelor of Building and Construction Management, Joel’s knowledge and understanding of the industry is second to none. His management techniques are an asset to all projects in both a practical and theoretical sense, and his holistic understanding of all project types makes him a strong leader of the Skelcon team.

Prior to founding Skelcon, Joel worked for some of Newcastle’s premier building companies and was inspired to develop Skelcon around the core values of honesty and transparency. As a result, Skelcon offers an alternative and superior method of project delivery to clients, resulting in greater value and investment return.

Vic joined Skelcon in June 2021 and has already made a significant impact, contributing to the company's first in-house Design & Construct project, which won a Master Builders Award. Additionally, Vic was part of the team that designed the new Skelcon Workplace, a space that she takes great pride in and enjoys working in each day.

As an Interior Designer at Skelcon, Vic has focused solely on interior design. However, she has spent the past 18 months refining the interior design and architecture offering with the team, to best serve Skelcon's clients and integrate into the company's business.

For Vic, being part of the Skelcon team means having the opportunity to collaborate with project managers and onsite teams to find creative solutions and opportunities for clients. This collaborative approach results in well-considered, functional, and beautiful projects that exceed clients' expectations.

Since joining Skelcon in November 2019, Robert has made a significant impact, building and expanding the company's portfolio in the hospitality sector. His greatest achievement has been establishing and strengthening Skelcon's relationship with Wests Group, which has resulted in the successful completion of large-scale projects at The Knights Centre of Excellence and other Wests venues.

Robert has had a diverse range of roles during his time at Skelcon. He started as a Junior Project Manager before rising to his current position as Project Manager. Additionally, he has been coordinating Skelcon's small works projects for the past two years, making him a versatile member of the team.

One of Pat's greatest achievements during his time at Skelcon was winning the MBA award in the first project he simultaneously Site Managed and Project Managed, the Indulgences project. Pat's dedication to his work and his ability to solve problems through his extensive experience and research have been invaluable to the Skelcon team.

Liam is a proud spreadsheet aficionado and dad-joke enthusiast (you could say he excels at them…), bringing a unique flair to the team. He has extensive experience in taxation and reporting across South-East Asia, including Indonesia, Singapore, India and Malaysia, making him an invaluable asset to Skelcon. Liam also has a deep understanding of payroll award interpretation and application.

When asked what it means to be part of the Skelcon team, Liam replied, "It is great to be part of a local company and work for someone who is so passionate about their business. During his 5.5 years at Skelcon, Matthew has accomplished remarkable milestones. His greatest achievement to date has been the successful handover of the first large-scale project, Fountaindale Childcare. Displaying an unwavering commitment to delivering excellence, he ensured the completion of this project to the highest standard. Additionally, Matthew has impressively managed a sizable project, Nelson Bay Dental, adhering to a tight deadline while minimising disruption to the client's operations, resulting in a satisfied customer.

Nathan is an experienced, reliable and driven site manager with over 25 years in the construction industry. Holding a Certificate III in Carpentry and a Certificate IV in Building, he brings a wealth of expertise to every project.

For over six years, Nathan has been a valued member of the Skelcon team, managing numerous standout projects. His hands-on approach has often showcased his exceptional carpentry skills, particularly on projects like the Newcastle Foreshore Kiosk, which he considers his greatest achievement with Skelcon to date.

Nathan thrives in Skelcon’s strong, supportive culture, where teamwork and excellence are encouraged. His attention to detail and ability to consistently deliver high-quality finishes have been instrumental in the success of every project he undertakes..

Sam is a dedicated Carpenter and Supervisor at Skelcon, bringing more than six years of hands-on experience in the construction industry. With a Certificate III in Carpentry and a Certificate IV in Building & Construction, Sam has built a strong foundation in his field and continues to develop his skills.

Joining Skelcon as a labourer in 2018, Sam’s hard work and drive led him to be signed on as a Carpentry Apprentice within his first six months. By his third year of working with Skelcon he had begun managing smaller projects. Today, he supervises larger projects and provides valuable leadership and expertise to the team.

Throughout his time at Skelcon, Sam has achieved notable milestones, including completing his Apprenticeship and obtaining his Certificate IV, which has enabled him to move into his current role as Carpenter/Supervisor.

Sam’s unique contribution to the Skelcon team is his commitment to continuous learning and improvement. By engaging with subcontractors and team members to understand their roles and tasks, he encourages collaboration on site. This dedication to teamwork helps ensure a high-quality outcome for Skelcon’s clients.
