Working alongside EJE Architecture, Skelcon delivered the complete café fit out, transforming an existing cold shell into a warm, contemporary and highly functional destination for gallery visitors.
The project includes an open plan café, commercial kitchen, store room and a seamless connection to the outdoor dining area. Every detail was carefully considered, with custom joinery, natural stone tiling and acoustic wall panels creating a refined, welcoming environment. The quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the fit out reflects the high standard expected within such a significant public venue.
Delivered by Skelcon’s Construction and Joinery teams, the project was completed over a four month programme to align with the Newcastle Art Gallery’s public reopening. Careful planning, strong collaboration and efficient project coordination ensured the programme was achieved without compromising quality.
