Medical fitout in Cambridge Building, at Newcastle Private HospitalSkelcon has recently completed a new fit-out project for the Hand Surgery Centre and Hand Therapy Centre within the consulting suites of the new Cambridge Building, at Newcastle Private Hospital.
Thisprojectinvolvedthefitoutofaninternalconsultingsuitewithfourconsultingoffices,anopenplantherapyroom,dedicatedgymroom,andsharedback-of-housefacilities,aswellasagenerousreceptionandwaitingroom.
Despite some material delays, the project was completed within a timeframe of 14 weeks. Skelcon was responsible for the construction component of this project only, working closely with the architect and designer, SDA, to ensure that the client's vision was realised.
One of the standout features of this project, was the use of high-quality materials. From the solid surface benchtops for the reception desk and open therapy room, timber batten feature wall, coffer ceiling in the waiting room and architectural panelling to bulkheads - highlighting the tall ceilings. These features, combined with the soft neutral tones and natural lighting, create a warm and inviting space for patients.
Our team enjoyed working on this project, as it was a beautiful design with bespoke features and materials that brought a fun and modern twist to your typical medical practice fit-out.
