Following the completion of a succession of local projects for Iris Capital, this client approached Skelcon again for their East End Display, commercial fit out located in Hunter St, Newcastle.
This project entailed a new display suite including the relocation of joinery, fittings and fixtures as well as the services equipment from the existing display suite all under a Design and Construct contract. With the existing display suite designed, this brief required the new works to fit seamlessly into the new space with uniformity of finishes and materials to match the existing display unit.
The project timeframe was 4 weeks to the remove all elements from the existing display and successfully complete the new display suite. The logistics of arranging the space proved challenging, ensuring that the existing display, furniture and equipment fit into the new tenancy. An additional component of the brief, was to provide level areas for the sales team to present to potential buyers. With the initial flooring not level, Skelcon designed and built level platforms within the tenancy which also enabled compliance and disabled access from the front of the building to the back.
Skelcon’s involvement in both the design and construct aspect of this project highlighted both the creative and analytic ingenuity and competence their team possess. As always, a happy and returning client is the biggest compliment to receive.
