Bao Brothers approached Skelcon to undertake the complete fitout of the new Bao Brothers restaurant located in Charlestown Square’s dynamic new food and entertainment precinct, ‘The Corner’ in late 2019. This fitout had a highly critical timeframe of 4 weeks so to open in line with the full precinct’s grand opening.
The scope for Bao Brother included a complete new commercial kitchen and dining fit out with works to kitchen, bar, seating, lighting and glazing. With a high end vision, the original design came in slightly over budget for the project. Without compromising on design or detail, Skelcon were able to value engineer to reduce the project cost and produce a finish of high end quality. The project was then executed to achieve both the critical timeframe and budget.
With works complete in a busy location and a large operational retail facility, a number of hurdles presented during the project from a leasing and council approval point of view. Skelcon’s experienced project team were able to manage the back end issues and resolve these in a timely manner to ensure that construction continued with minimal delay and the restaurant opening was not inhibited.
